Welcome to Maison de Bavière

A little Europe, a lot of Val-David

The house sits in the village heart of Val-David

Bordering the Rivière du Nord for several metres, the house stands along the P’tit Train du Nord linear park, close to one of the entrances to the Val-David–Val-Morin regional park.

Besides a setting that is easy to enjoy at any hour, you can also stretch your legs: village shops and activities are a few steps away. Restaurants, cafés and bistros are close, and the summer and winter markets give a fine taste of local produce.

For a more active stay, rent outdoor gear nearby and head out on the bike paths — or ski, paddle the river, visit the Sivananda ashram, or join a yoga or meditation session.

On the cultural side, you can step into the village’s history with Curé Labelle and the Train du Nord. Art lovers will find galleries and craft, including Kinya Ishikawa’s 1001 pots.

A surprising and wonderful place

This tourist-apartment house in Val-David was founded in 1990 by André Lesage and Ute Schulé. These gifted craftspeople created a true Bavarian atmosphere in an unexpected Laurentian setting.

Every shutter, door and bathtub is painted in the Bavarian tradition. Wood ceilings, small staircases, bay windows and dormers feel like a little Alpine chalet.

A small fridge and wine glasses are ready for an apéritif. Who knows — you may even be offered a Jägertee, the Bavarian drink of mulled wine and spiced tea, when you come back to the chalet. Maison de Bavière is a place to rest.
